Viewing conflicts through the eye of Counterinsurgency COIN – Since 2007
(ANF) YPG forces have cleared the town of Til Berak of all remaining ISIS forces following nearly 24 hours of heavy fighting. The victory came the day after the YPG/YPJ liberated Til Hemis as part of a joint operation with Syriac units and local Arab militias.
According to reporters on the ground in Til Berak the YPG had entirely cleared the city by this evening, after clashes which began last night and continued through much of the day. The bodies of dozens of ISIS fighters remained in the town after the group withdrew, although the total number of ISIS fighters killed in the fighting remains unclear.
YPG operations are continuing in the area.
