Viewing conflicts through the eye of Counterinsurgency COIN – Since 2007

Syria and Iran Today

Syria and Iran Today

I am for keeping the government intact. If US, UN, or others go in it will be like Iraq all over again. The current US admin may  think an active posture standing on the Saudi and Sunni Side is what they want.  If they can find a way to intervene in Syria it is the foothold they would need and want to act in a land and air battle with Iran.  This is not some dream this is what the Saudi backer (Sadly it seems like the plan so far. I think a land battle against Iran would be very stupid for both sides. Pin point air strikes if Iran uses a nuke should be the posture we should take. We also should know that keeping Shia governments (i.e. Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon. Not very many when you compare to Sunni lead governments.

I wish Iraq was currently stable, for the most part it is, The Kurdish areas in North Iraq are the safest, and Christians can live without fear there. In the South East of Iraq followers of John the Baptist still exist. Kurds also live in Iran, Iraq, and Syria, Turkey, all of which have areas that ethnically was the historically home of the Kurds. That is why PKK fights.. The Kurds are or were also fighting in Syria but most of these come from the PKK who wants a renewed and unified State called Kurdistan.

But on the plus side

The Kurds hate the  foreign  Muslim extremest fighters. The foreign extremist have killed many Kurds and Christians. The Christians they killed were mostly in the Syrian Army. The Syrians are getting good help from seasoned professionals elite Iranian Units who seem to understand counterinsurgency very well. Why do I say that….well the local populations in the areas they are working know and respect them and wave. Also they drive slower and make stops, whereas the Syrian Army tends to drive through fast and not communicate with the local population as much as the Iranians.

I would love to see a deal where we build one of the newly designed Westinghouse reactors for Iran. The Russian designs are crap. The newest Westinghouse has gravity feed backup water for the reactors ponds. This could have saved many of the reactors in Japan. The Iranians are ripe for a deal and looking for a friend, any friend, and who can blame them 80 some odd countries foreign insurgents and backing attacking their brother and neighbor.

If you were Iran and surrounded by Sunni Governments you would be concerned also.

About Ian Bach

Independent Online Terrorist Hunter I teach people how to hunt down and shut down the Bad guys web sites. I also teach about the various countries and cultures. Like most cases it is a small group of bsd eggs that in this case call themselves Muslims but in actual fact they are more like how KKK call themselves ",True Christisians". But in both cases / groups they preach a perverted and twisted view a religion. In the case of ISIS, all Qaeda, al Nusra, and the rest of the terrorists who claim to be true Muslims most of these groups follow the Wahhabi teachings. They are almost all Sunni and their goal is global domination. Yet they must be very bad at math and history. Since most Muslims prefer a separation of church and state and also mist are against Shari's Law. Esp the twisted and overly exaggerated form of Sharia Law that the Wahhabi and other bad guys use. I have studied terrorism, insurgencies, and the best tried and proven methods that work to fight terrorism. My Blogs have many links and articles that can show you who are the best and most knowledgeable people in the fields or counterinsurgency and counter terrorism. When I find great practitioner's I always listen to them to find out who they learned from and who they respect and admire. Thus I am always learning new stuff from the best and most successful in their fields of knoeledge. I strive to be an open and ethical source of information, I have met many awesome, kind, caring, and loving wonderful people many who I am close friends with now from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Iran, and many from S.E. Asia which also has a high percent of their populations that are Muslim. We must always strive to be aware people are not any one particular religion via that's what they chose to be, instead most people are a particular religion because that's what their parents and/or county is. I was raised Catholic but because I became Interested in magic ,(illusion - smoke n mirrors) and science which lead me to study many religions, and I would call myself an atheist. Yet sometimes when I lose my keys ZI find myself praying "Hail Marys" and a few "Our Fathers" which most always aides me in finding my keys. My belief is that if I just frantically look around for my krys, good luck it takes me for ever. But by saying these prayers it is like s sort of meditation and my mind becomes more calm, which is why it helps my find my keys.

Great article Ian! I am very impressed. Your writing sounds like a lot of the stuff I had to do in college. My degree was comparative politics from UCSD. Do you also have a poli-sci degree, or are you just passionate about world issues?

Thanks Christina. No I do not have a degree, but since I was very young I was always interested in History, geography, war, and ethnic groups. I look at it as how would I feel if I was in their shoes. I think empathy is something that most people seem to ignore, for me is sorta a second nature. One other thing that helps me to see the world in a different way than most people is I studied magic/illusions. I was only 7 years old when I started to study magic and I thought it was real, but I soon found out no it is all smoke and mirrors. So when I hear or see something I do not see it the same as most people I tend to take it apart and look at at from all sides and views.

Also in 2007 – present I have studied counter insurgency (aka COIN) and counter terrorism. I wish the USA government would wake up and relearn COIN. The habit of trying to overthrow regimes or going into places that we have no right to intervene is only playing into the hands of al Qaeda and others who have stated that one of their goals is to over extend the US governments military and to bankrupt the USA via that method. The actions of the World Bank, UN, USA and others to try and make a globalized environment only exaggerates this problem. We have to understand that other people in other countries love their history, culture, religion, and they will fight back with everything they have if they feel their culture is in danger of being westernized or other changes.
