Bill Clinton’s Failures Unleashed Global Terror

Speaker's Photo Richard Miniter is the author of two New York Times bestselling books, Losing bin Laden and Shadow War, and is an internationally recognized expert on terrorism.

He has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and The Christian Science Monitor, as well as leading magazines including The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic and Reader’s Digest. His published work has been featured in policy and political magazines including The American Enterprise, National Review, Reason, and Policy Review, among others. In addition, his articles have appeared in newspapers throughout Europe, Asia and Australia.

After graduating from Vassar College in 1990, Miniter worked for the American Spectator, became a policy analyst at the Competitive Enterprise Institute and was a senior writer at Insight, a magazine published by the Washington Times.

From 1996 to 2000, Miniter reported for newspapers and magazines on assignment from Western Europe, subSaharan Africa, Southern Africa and Southeast Asia. He traveled with rebels into war zones in Uganda, Sudan and Burma and along smugglers’ routes in Laos, Thailand and Cambodia.

Hired by renowned Wall Street Journal editor Robert Bartley in 2000, Miniter was sent to Brussels as an editorial page writer at The Wall Street Journal Europe and editor of its weekly “Business Europe” column. He also wrote a weekly column, “The Visible Hand,” for The Wall Street Journal’s OpinionJournal.com. This column was cited by Forbes, Slate, and others.

While at the Journal, Random House published Miniter’s first book, The Myth of Market Share. The book argues that market share does not tend to generate aboveaverage profits. Executives should not pursue mergers based on size alone and regulators should not bother to stop them. The Myth of Market Share has been translated into Chinese, Hebrew, German, Japanese, Italian, and Spanish. The Washington Post said it was a “must read for business executives.” Shortly after the September 11 attacks, Miniter left the Journal to join the investigative reporting team of the Sunday Times (of London), Britain’s largest quality paper. Miniter cowrote a fourpart series, “The Road to Ground Zero.” The series won first prize by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

In early 2002, Miniter was contracted to write a book that became Losing bin Laden. He would spend the next 18 months reporting from Khartoum, Cairo, Frankfurt, Hamburg, London, Paris and Washington to offer an authoritative account of the bin Laden menace during the Clinton years. It became a New York Times bestseller, peaking at no. 9 in September 2003. Losing bin Laden was cited on NBC’s “Meet the Press” by host Tim Russert. The book was also praised in columns by George F. Will, Steve Forbes and Robert Novak.

Miniter’s next book was drawn from ontheground reporting in Iraq, Kuwait, Egypt, Sudan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. Shadow War: The Untold Story of How America is Winning the War on Terror became his second New York Times bestseller, debuting at no.7.

Miniter’s latest book is entitled Disinformation: 22 Media Myths That Undermine the War on Terror. Based on exclusive interviews and official documents, the book challenges many widelyheld notions: that Bin Laden was trained or financed by the CIA in the 1980s, that Halliburton profiteered in Iraq, that profiling Arabs at airports would stop terrorism, and that the U.S.Mexico border is an open door for Al Qaeda.

Miniter appears regularly on television and radio to discuss alQaeda and global terrorism. He has appeared on every major American cable news network including CNN, CSpan, Fox News and MSNBC—nearly 200 times in the past three years. He has been featured on “Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer,” “The O’Reilly Factor,” “Hannity & Colmes,” and “Special Report with Brit Hume,” among others. He has been a featured guest on more 1000 talk radio shows, including almost every top ten program, from Rush Limbaugh to Laura Ingraham. He has often appeared on overseas television networks including ABC (Australia), Al Jazeera (Qatar), CBC (Canada), ITV and SkyNews (U.K), LBC (Lebanon), and RAI (Italy), and radio programs in Australia, Belgium, France, Ireland, and Italy.

A widely sought speaker, Miniter has given speeches across America, Europe and Asia, addressing audiences of executives, students, judges, lawyers and government officials. He has delivered speeches on terrorism at the Royal Military College in Brussels, at the Conservative Political Action Committee in Washington, at the World Journalism Institute in New York, a business summit in Singapore and the Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents Club.

Miniter graduated from Vassar College with a degree in philosophy in 1990. His thesis was on the German classical liberal Wilhelm von Humboldt’s “The Limits of State Action,” the work that inspired John Stuart Mill to write “On Liberty.”

About Ian Bach

Independent Online Terrorist Hunter I teach people how to hunt down and shut down the Bad guys web sites. I also teach about the various countries and cultures. Like most cases it is a small group of bsd eggs that in this case call themselves Muslims but in actual fact they are more like how KKK call themselves ",True Christisians". But in both cases / groups they preach a perverted and twisted view a religion. In the case of ISIS, all Qaeda, al Nusra, and the rest of the terrorists who claim to be true Muslims most of these groups follow the Wahhabi teachings. They are almost all Sunni and their goal is global domination. Yet they must be very bad at math and history. Since most Muslims prefer a separation of church and state and also mist are against Shari's Law. Esp the twisted and overly exaggerated form of Sharia Law that the Wahhabi and other bad guys use. I have studied terrorism, insurgencies, and the best tried and proven methods that work to fight terrorism. My Blogs have many links and articles that can show you who are the best and most knowledgeable people in the fields or counterinsurgency and counter terrorism. When I find great practitioner's I always listen to them to find out who they learned from and who they respect and admire. Thus I am always learning new stuff from the best and most successful in their fields of knoeledge. I strive to be an open and ethical source of information, I have met many awesome, kind, caring, and loving wonderful people many who I am close friends with now from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Iran, and many from S.E. Asia which also has a high percent of their populations that are Muslim. We must always strive to be aware people are not any one particular religion via that's what they chose to be, instead most people are a particular religion because that's what their parents and/or county is. I was raised Catholic but because I became Interested in magic ,(illusion - smoke n mirrors) and science which lead me to study many religions, and I would call myself an atheist. Yet sometimes when I lose my keys ZI find myself praying "Hail Marys" and a few "Our Fathers" which most always aides me in finding my keys. My belief is that if I just frantically look around for my krys, good luck it takes me for ever. But by saying these prayers it is like s sort of meditation and my mind becomes more calm, which is why it helps my find my keys.

Looks like a good read, Ian. Bill Clinton doesn’t get the credit he deserves for our current situation, and this is probably the only time in his life where he doesn’t want the credit for something he did!

some of the interviews with ahmed shah massoud talk about lawyers calling off attacks when we could have killed Bin Laden. Also there is some evidence Bin Laden was offered to USA when Sudan deported him. But that obvious;y didnt happen. They ended up deporting him to somalia I think? Saudi Arabi wouldn;t let him in. The facts are stranger than any of the fiction, conspiracy theories, and misinformation. I may even have to buy these books. While Iv’e seen most of the info the books talk about I am sure I would see some new data I havent seen yet.

Ian, I read this book right after 9/11 and I was floored! It is so hard for me to believe that we (or should I say Clinton) had so many opportunities to destroy the entire Bin Laden family and PASSED. Of course, hind sight is 20/20 but he was already threatening to take down the USA and Clinton already viewed him as a serious threat to this great country and its patriots within! But, you will never hear the liberal media quoting Miniter nor will you hear them raising questions as to how involved Clinton was in 9/11. You will however, hear all about what a f-up Bush is and how he single handedly caused 9/11, Katrina, all of the wild fires, all disease and probably my pregnancy too! God love and bless this country and please, guide this president and continue to keep him safe and protected!

good points MaHaa if u have the used book I would like to read it they are selling cheap on amazon atm so either way.

Yup my research into pre 911 shown a completly different light (especially from a tacticians view) on what went wrong. I just finished watching a BBC broadcast and was suprised to hear the young audience asking why we went for oil(rolls eyes) The same old fiction getting in the way of public view. All a result of Media Greed.

I truely believe we need to get the printing preses of truth and facts rolling.

The world watches American TV and Films and has created a mess. The Majority of Hollywood thinks its all some game/conspiracy. War has been described as “The Great Game” before but not in this sense or to this extent. One thing I hope to see is when election time comes around the Cliton mistakes get full public viewing. Hillary is a lawyer and lets just say that not what we need in white house atm. Also none of the democrates speak about Somalia, north africa, or Southeast Asia. I work with schools sometimes and am always amazed at the democratic slant. Our children deserve the truth not the democrates and liberals misinformeation, lies, and views.
